Rescue/OUtReach COORDINATOR

Job Description

The Rescue/Outreach Coordinator is an essential part of team ARRC and will be in the front lines – attending rescue calls, empowering public with the right information and assisting rescuers in the field in efficiently coordinating rescues. It will also entail creating effective content for our social media accounts in line with the mission of our organization. This position requires a strong passion for wildlife and the environment along with enthusiasm for story-telling as a means to educate and raise awareness amongst people.

Roles & Responsibilities

The Outreach Coordinator has a wide range of duties that include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating effective content for and managing our presence on social media platforms 
  • Maintenance of a content library for various organizational usage
  • Working closely with our operations team in capturing behind the scenes footage of our work
  • Conducting outreach events at schools, colleges, community centers etc. on relevant issues affecting the environment and urban wildlife
  • Working with our core team and effectively liaising with the media/general public

Qualifications

 The ideal candidate must have

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in communications/journalism/media or related fields; preferably for a non-profit
  • Experience with graphic design, audio/video editing and website management
  • Basic understanding of ecological concepts and human wildlife conflict issues
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of various social media platforms
  • Have proficiency in writing/editing for various formats
  • Posses good documentation skills (photo/video)
  • Have excellent communication skills and be willing to work effectively with a team
  • Have excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Have strong integrity, good personal work ethic and positive attitude
  • Be flexible and adaptable in dynamic situations
  • Have the willingness to grow and evolve in a team environment but also possess the ability to work independently
  • Must have a solid understanding of and dedication towards fulfilling ARRC’s mission
